Traditional approach to allergy symptoms is to suppress them with antihistamine medications, corticosteroids, etc. Even though it is useful in some situations it is not a long term answer to a problem.
Over the years, Helena Amos, M.Ac., L.Ac. noticed more and more patients (children and adults) with multiple allergies, food and environment sensitivities coming to her office. She has seen a lot of families where adults and children suffer from chronic sinus infection, eczema, indigestion, irritable bowel syndrome, itchy eyes, runny nose, hives, trouble breathing, asthma, nausea, diarrhea, behavioral problems, ADD, ADHD, etc.
For new patients we carefully gather information about their medical history, ask to keep a food diary for a while, ask about seasonal allergies and pets, and mold and dust conditions at work or home. We also ask about food cravings; very often patients are allergic to what they crave the most such as dairy or bread/gluten, or sugar.
Using energetic testing we check the status of the patients meridians which are related to certain organs or systems such as lungs, liver, kidney, small intestines, etc. This test is done by holding a probe near certain major acupuncture points which allow us to record the level of energy in each meridian.
Acupressure and acupuncture are successfully used to expedite the process. Certain acupuncture points are very well known to reduce/eliminate allergy symptoms.
For adults and some children, organ detoxification is used while monitoring the progress by checking organs/meridians and doing it step by step starting from organs of elimination and following in individual order. German drainage remedies and homeopathic/light herbal tinctures are used. This is a very effective and a gentle process of unlocking toxins from the cells.
Enzyme therapy for better digestion (different for each individual depending on food group intolerance, i.e., lipase for fat, amylase for carbohydrates etc). Also cleansing proteolytic enzymes help the immune system to function the best.
